Book 5/50

Well, after dealing with baby fevers, puking, and diarrhea for 8 days, I finally got a little time to read. One of the things I did while Matthew was napping on me a few days this week was watch TV.  I was flipping through the stations and turned on No Reservations with Anthony Bourdain.  I knew who he was, and had seen him on my favorite show Top Chef before, although I never took him that seriously (nor did I know much about him).  I quickly became hooked, and have been devouring this show whenever I see it airing.  His smart ass sense of humor sits just right with me, and I love the idea of 1 guy with a camera travelling and talking (a la Survivorman without the survival).  Anyway, I went out and picked up his book Kitchen Confidential and really enjoyed it.  It's a memoir of his life in the kitchen, and all of the antics that go on back there. He makes no pretenses of it being a glamorous lifestyle, and even discusses his drug abuse in depth.  Told in the first person, and incredibly interesting, this really hit the spot and might have been the bright spot in my week.
